Crab Roll Recipe
I’m using fresh crab meat sourced from the fishmonger in my crab roll recipe but you can use any fresh crab meat in a pot or tinned crab meat even.
I’m going to use fresh dill along with celery, green onion (spring onion) and several spices and sauces to taste.
I suggest not to use dried dill, but only the fresh variety. It’s worth going to buy some if you don’t have any around the kitchen.
I’m going to use around 5 oz or 250g of crab meat to make 2 large rolls.
How to Make Your Crab Roll
We’re going to need around a 1/4 cup of each of the following, finely chopped as part of the crab mix.
- Fresh dill
- Celery
- Green Onion
- Sprig of parsley (optional)
Once you’ve chopped the ingredients place in medium bowl and mix together along with 2 Tbsp of mayo.
I’ve added some Tabasco sauce to mine, plus a teespoon of Cajun spice, it’s down to personal preference on how spicy and hot you like your seafood.
With the crab meat mix ready. Take 2 large white rolls of choice and cut in half ready to toast under the grill or however you like to toast.
Pour a small amount of olive oil onto the top cut side of each roll and place under the grill until golden brown. keep an eye on those rolls while under the grill so as not to burn them.
Take the toasted rolls and add the crab meat mix to one side of the rolls, top with lettuce and your ready to serve.
