Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Sandwich
On a hot lazy day one of my favourate snacks to eat while soaking up the sun is a delicious smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich.
This recipe has added flavour from the capers and arugula or rocket as its also known as. All served between 2 slices of toasted sourdough bread, yummy!
Its a quick and easy recipe to make so you’ll have your fresh tasting sandwich ready to eat in no time.
Let’s get to it!
How to Make Salmon and Cream Cheese Sandwich
To start, toast 2 slices of the sourdough bread. Now spread the cream cheese onto the bread fairly generously.
Chop a small amount of red onion, a quarter of onion is enough for one serving and sprinkle over the cream cheese base.
Season with black pepper to taste.
Now layer some of the smoked salmon over the onion and cheese and sprinkle the capers onto the salmon.
Finally, add some of the arugula to top off and complete with the remaining sourdough bread slice.
Your now ready to tuck into this tasty sandwich that has a gentle taste of salmon and cream cheese combined with a slight tartness from the capers.
Capers are optional, I personnally love them but they’re not to everyones taste. They are cheap to buy, so if you haven’t tried them before it may be worth seeing if you enjoy their slightly tart taste.
